On 18th Febuary 2019, a complaint was registered at Dholahat Police Station that a minor girl was sexually abused. One team formed under leadership of SI Subhendu Ch. Das immediately swung into action and arrested the accused Raju Hossain Purkait. After meticulous investigation, a charge sheet was submitted by the I.O. within the stipulated period. Ld. ADJ 1st Court under Spl POCSO Act Kakdwip, South 24 Parganas passed the verdict on 16th march 2023. The accused Raju Hossain Purkait was punished and sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for 20 years with a fine RS- 50000/- if failed to pay, imprisonment of 6 months more.
