Sundarban Police District, West Bengal Police ensures lifetime imprisonment for the accused on Crime Against Children. On 2nd January 2017 a complaint was registered at Namkhana Police Station that a minor girl (02 yrs) was sexually assaulted by her father. One Team under Sub-Inspector Ajay Chanda immediately swung into action and arrested the accused. After meticulous investigation, a charge sheet was submitted by I.O within the stipulated period. Ld. Addl. Dist. & Sessions Judge, 1st Court, Kakdwip, S/24 Pgs passed the verdict on 3rd March 2023.The accused Jaydeb Bera of Shivnagar Abad, PS Namkhana, S/24 Pgs, was punished and sentenced to life time imprisonment with a fine of 45000/-.
