On 9th August 2018, a complaint was registered at Namkhana Police Station that a minor girl (06 yrs) was sexually assaulted. One Team under Sub-Inspector SI Md. Shaqib Shahab immediately swung into action and arrested the accused Asesh Hazra on 09.08.2018 and after meticulous investigation, a charge sheet was submitted by I.O within 22 days. Ld. Addl. Dist & Sessions Judge, 1st Court, Kakdwip Court passed the verdict on 1st March 2023. The accused Asesh Hazra ( 38 Yrs.) Vill- Shibrampur, PS Namkhana, South 24 Pgs was punished with 20 years of rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs 40,000. In case he cannot pay the fine, he will have to suffer imprisonment for 6 more months. The court also directed State Govt. to pay a compensation amount of 03 (three) Lacs to the VG.
